Meeting Kristina

A particularly interesting morning was had today, meeting our next Music and Me guest Kristina Keneally.

It's very heartening that Kristina, along with our other guests, is willing to open a window into aspects of her personal life, and that we as artists have the opportunity to perform music of significance, for a woman of note and integrity.

Soooo, what I can say, is there will be some Bernstein, Copland and Broadway fun. We also travel to observe the shrine of the Black Madonna. I think we will all find some interesting (and surprising) stories connecting the music selection to the life of Kristina.

Music and Me - how generous can a guest speaker be?

May 13 was certainly a fabulous start for Singing Bird Productions, with our first Music and Me concert. Justice Kirby was so generous in his willingness to discuss the personal connections to the music we were performing. I couldn't have asked for more :)

A big thanks to our performers - Melissa, Simon, Andrew and John. There were many magical moments that really engaged our audience - I even caught Justice Kirby closing his eyes, immersed in the music experience.

Thank you also to all the helpers who assisted for the evening.

Wow! It's still a little overwhelming and absolutely very positive.

Music and Me - May 13 featuring Hon Justice Michael Kirby

Well, it's officially happening. Singing Bird Productions will be launched at it's first concert series on Friday May 13 at our favourite haunt, Paddington Uniting Church.

The series is called Music and Me, which will comprise of 3 concerts during 2011.

We are thrilled to announce Hon Justice Michael Kirby will be our guest speaker on May 13.

"A guest speaker" I hear you ask?

Our guest speakers come to Music and Me to share with the audience some of the pivotal moments in their life, personal or professional, and the connection of music to these events.

An ensemble of talented singers and musicians will be performing the music selections during the concert, interspersed with the guest's commentary.

Justice Kirby's selection includes Bach, Mahler, Puccini and Noel Coward.

Our artists include Melissa Coleman, Andrew Pettingell, Simon Ward, John Martin, and Angela Lewis.
